Six children on their way to school in an auto-rickshaw were injured when it collided with a car on the Maloya road here around 7:30 am today.

According to eyewitnesses, the auto collided head-on with the car, allegedly being driven at high speed. The police said the accident occurred due to the alleged negligence on the part of the auto driver, who was reportedly driving rashly and transporting more children than the permitted limit. The driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake another car.

The injured were admitted to the GMSH-16 and discharged later.
