Killing of soldiers in Handwara condemned

The All Churches Council has strongly condemned the killing of Army personnel in an encounter with terrorists at a village in north Kashmir’s Handwara district.

“In this encounter, five soldiers, including Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, Major Anuj Sood, Lance Naik Dinesh, Naik Rajesh and Assistant Sub-Inspector of the JK Police Shakeel Qazi, were martyred in the line of duty and they made supreme sacrifice for the country,” said Anil Masih, president of the council.

During this operation, Colonel and his team rescued civilians held hostage by the terrorists. Two terrorists were killed in the encounter.

Masih said: “Nation always stands with martyrs and their families who don’t forget their duties in any circumstances. Their sacrifice must not be forgotten.”
