Kurali MC razes structure owned by councillor
On the prodding of Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Mann, the Kurali MC razed the under-construction structure allegedly owned by Congress MC Councillor Jeeta of Ward No 16 yesterday.
An earth-moving machine razed the foundation, felled the iron bars and levelled the land in front of Mann and officials of the civic body. However, the Executive Officer of the MC remained missing despite the MLA seeking his presence repeatedly. Mann warned the MC officials that commercial construction is being done in the garb of residential property even though it cannot be carried out in the immediate proximity of the national highway.
“Just cancel the commercial and residential property permission given to them,” she said. “All the illegal constructions in Kurali will be flattened. I have to keep a JCB in my cavalcade. The Municipal Council officials have made the town hell in collusion with builders and encroachers. Vigilance Bureau inquiries are being done against some officials, it might be your number next,” she warned the MC officials.
Meanwhile, the councillor said no commercial construction was being done and only a room was being constructed. “I was out of station. Upon reaching home, I came to know that the entire structure was demolished. It is completely wrong and politically motivated,” Jeeta added.
“I want to tell the MC officials and the people that I do not take bribe, nor I have any understanding with the MLA. I will not tolerate this,” the councillor added.
