Chandigarh: A laptop was stolen from a Volvo bus on the way from Chandigarh to Delhi. According to the police, complainant Nilamadhaba Panda, a native of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, reported that her laptop was stolen from a Punbus on December 15. Dental camp

Chandigarh: Nearly 300 patients were examined by a team of doctors from Dental Wellness Centre, Sector 37-D, Chandigarh, in association with Sri Sukhmani Dental College and Hospital, Dera Bassi, at the fourth health check-up camp. The team consisted of 20 dental surgeons who carried out comprehensive dental check-up. The protocol included thorough assessment of patients’ oral health. TNS

Man held with stolen pigs

Ambala: The police have claimed to recovere two stolen pigs from Lally, a resident of Moga district in Punjab. According to police, Gaurav of Ambala City, had reported that Laly along with an unknown car driver had stolen his two pigs worth Rs 20,000 from near Ghas Mandi. The suspect would be produced before a local court on Wednesday. TNS

Teenaged girl goes missing

Ambala: A teenaged girl and an octogenarian man were among three persons who had reportedly gone missing from their respective places in Ambala. According to information, a resident of Baldev Nagar, reported to the police that her 17-year-old daughter had left home on December 15, but did not return. Similarly, Vishvas of Baldev Nagar, had reported that his 80-year-old father-in-law was missing since November 28. Raman Kumar of Barara has been reported missing since December 8. The police have lodged missing person’s reports in all the three cases and launched a manhunt to trace the trio at the earliest and unite them with their family. TNS

Man held with illicit liquor

Zirakpur: The police arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession at a naka laid near the godown area here on Monday. The suspect has been identified as Arun Kumar, a resident of Chandigarh. The police said they got a tip-off about the alleged activities of the suspect, following which a naka was laid near Zirakpur. The suspect, who was coming from the Chandigarh side, was stopped for checking. During checking, the police recovered illicit liquor from his possession and arrested him. During preliminary investigations, it came to the fore that the suspect used to buy liquor from Chandigarh and sell it at higher prices to hooked up youths in villages and the nearby areas. A case has been registered. OC
