Piles of garbage have already claimed the newly laid road in Phase 8 here. Ironically, Mohali bagged the top state award in the Swachh Survekshan 2023. As it is an isolated area, the residents here do not know who throws garbage on the road. The dumped garbage is a nuisance to the Punjab School Education Board and a newly developed shopping mall in the area.

Area councillor Namrata Singh said that GMADA has laid the road here while other development works are in the pipeline, adding that the MC has begun fencing the area as a few PG students throw household waste here.
