Local lad Krish dominates All-India Junior Golf championship

ocal golfer Krish Chawla gave yet another exceptional performance at the IGU All-India Junior Golf Championship held at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) greens in Bengaluru.

Competing in Category A, Krish posted an impressive 4 under par, with rounds of 70, 73, 72 and 69, showcasing a remarkable consistency and mastery on the challenging course. Besides his category A victory, he was overall runner-up in the combined A & B category.

This outstanding victory is poised to propel Krish’s global ranking. Currently ranked 843rd in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), he is also firmly positioned among the top 10 amateur golfers in India.

Reflecting on his achievement, Krish commented, “KGA is a tough and long course with challenging conditions. I was able to maintain a consistent play while competing against some of the best golfers from across India. Playing three consecutive weeks was demanding, but I finished 5th at Golmuri last week and claimed the top spot at Tollygunge Golf Club the week before. Maintaining consistency while managing fatigue is always a challenge, but I’m now looking forward to the All-India Amateur Golf Championship to be held at Chandigarh Golf Club next week.”

A student of Strawberry Fields High School here, Krish is coached by Jesse Grewal at the Chandigarh Golf Academy. With his recent triumphs, Krish has firmly established himself as one of India’s premier junior golfers, currently ranked among the top 3 in the country.
