Lohgarh man, 12 others booked for stabbing 25-year-old to death
Police launched a murder probe and booked a Lohgarh resident and 12 others for allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old Zirakpur youth near Patiala Chowk. According to the information, the accused, Simu, is absconding. He is already facing rioting charges in connection with an incident that took place at a Zirakpur hotel in July.
On Friday night, 25-year-old Akashdeep Singh, a native of Gurdaspur, was stabbed to death by a mob near the traffic police beat box at the Zirakpur-Patiala chowk.
The victim had indulged in heated arguments with two youths near an eatery and liquor vend. As tempers ran high, the youths stabbed him with sharp weapons. The assailant chased him as he tried to escape and stabbed him again near the beat box.
Akashdeep sustained injuries on the head and neck. He was taken to a private hospital, from where he was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, where he succumbed to the injuries.
