In compliance with the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, a special Jail Lok Adalat was held at the Central Jail under the supervision of Aparna Bhardwaj, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority.

The initiative aimed to expedite justice for undertrial prisoners and provide legal relief in specific cases. Since Panchkula district has no jail of its own, the Central Jail serves both Panchkula and Ambala.

Aparna Bhardwaj said three cases were reviewed, leading to the release of accused individuals. Binder Singh and Jagdeep Singh, booked under FIR 81/2024 and 117/2024 at the Sector 20 police station, Panchkula, under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, were granted relief. Rampal, booked under FIR 307/2024 at the Chandimandir police station under Sections 303, 317(2) and 238 of the BNS, was also released.
