The National Lok Adalat will be held at the District Courts Panchkula and the Kalka Sub-Division courts on December 14.
Ajay Kumar Ghanghas, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Panchkula, said the Lok Adalat would primarily focus on resolution of online traffic challans, impounded vehicles and drunken driving cases among others. Ghanghas emphasised that the fine to be imposed on violators would be significantly lower than the penalty charged at traffic challaning branches.
He said help desks had been set up at strategic locations, including the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Secretariat, SBI Bank, Sector 8, Traffic Challaning Branch, Sector 12, and the District Courts Complex, to guide people in accessing benefits offered by the Lok Adalat.
