Maj Gen’s maiden visit to NCC Group HQ

Maj Gen Beji Mathews, Additional Director General (ADG), Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh NCC Directorate, visited the Chandigarh NCC Group Headquarters here today. This was his first visit to the group since he took over as the ADG on March 13.
He was received by Brigadier Ranjit Singh, Group Commander, Chandigarh, and was briefed on the activities of the NCC units in the group. He interacted with cadets, officers and associate NCC officers from various schools and colleges of Chandigarh.
In his address, he appreciated the excellent performance of the NCC in Chandigarh and commended the hard work being put in by officers and cadets alike. He impressed upon everyone the importance of self-discipline and taking pride in uniform.
On the occasion, General Mathews also tried his hand at the flight simulator and inspected the aero-modelling section of the NCC Air Wing unit. He appreciated the efforts of unit officers and staff for setting up an all-in-one flight simulator for cadets which will give them near actual flying experience and will be a motivation for them to have career in the Air Force as a pilot.
