Mohali man arrested for running prostitution racket online

Chandigarh, June 16

The Cyber Cell of the investigation wing of the UT police has arrested a 31-year-old man for running an online escort service (prostitution) racket. The suspect also used to take protection money from brokers involved in the racket.

The suspect has been identified as Sarabjit Singh, alias Rocky, a resident of Balongi in Mohali. He is the third suspect to be arrested in the case. Two of his associates were arrested earlier.

An investigation revealed that the suspect used to charge money from other pimps for running their online escort service in Chandigarh. He did this business with Heer, Kunal and other people. They used to target needy women by pushing them into flesh trade. “The business was run through social media,” said a cop.

The police have registered a case at the Sector 49 police station. The police said Rocky was earlier arrested in a case of attempt to murder. He had opened fire on a person in Sector 22.
