Man awarded 10-year jail in NDPS Act case

Court also imposes Rs 1 lakh fine on convict

A local court has sentenced Rajender Singh, a resident of Mauli Jagran, to undergo 10-year rigorous imprisonment in an NDPS Act case registered five years ago. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the convict.

The police had registered a case on March 16, 2020, after the accused was arrested 10 injections of Pheniramine Maleate and 11 injections of Buprenorphine without any permit or licence.

Charges under Section 22 of the NDPS Act were framed against the accused. While rejecting his plea for leniency, the court sentenced the accused to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
