Zirakpur: Ambala man booked for rape, abetment to suicide of Bhankharpur girl
Zirakpur, April 17
The police booked an Ambala resident, Rakesh Kumar, for wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, rape and abetment to suicide of a Bhankharpur girl on April 14.
The 25-year-old victim was employed at a mall in Singhpura. She had left home for work on November 10, 2021, but did not return.
A missing person report was filed at the Dera Bassi police station. On April 14, the complainant came to know that her sister was admitted to the GMCH-32 as she consumed some poisonous substance. Later, she died but her autopsy could not be done.
The victim’s family stated that they came to know that Rakesh allegedly lured the girl and held her hostage and developed physical relations with her. The suspect threatened the girl and gave her some poisonous substance.
A case under Sections 343, 376, 306 and 506 of the IPC has been registered.
