A Sirhind resident was killed and his wife injured after a bike they were riding on rammed into a truck as the driver applied brakes suddenly.
ASI Gurcharan Singh of the Sirhind police station said in her complaint to the police, Geeta Devi, a resident of Brahman Majra in Sirhind, said she was going to her parent’s house in Sahnewal town on a bike with her husband Sukhwinder Singh.
When they reached near Khanpur village, the driver of a truck (PB11BY2601) moving in front of them applied brakes suddenly. As a result, the bike rammed into the rear of the truck. Both of them fell on the road and were badly injured.
Geeta said local people took them to Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, where her husband died during treatment. The police have registered a case against the unidentified truck driver and handed over Sukhwinder's body to the family after post mortem.
