Chandigarh: The UT police have arrested a 28-year-old man for swapping an ATM. The police said the complainant, a resident of PGI, had reported that an unidentified person exchanged her ATM card and withdrew money from her account. A case was registered at the Sector 11 police station. During investigation, the police arrested the suspect, Sonu Kumar of Nayagaon. TNS

Gold chain snatched

Panchkula: Two bike-borne persons allegedly snatched a gold chain from a woman here on Tuesday. Drishti Madan, a resident of Sector 11, said she was riding a two-wheeler to Sector 9 when two bikers came from behind and snatched her gold chain before fleeing. A case has been registered. TNS

Bird Park closed today

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Bird Park, Butterfly Park, Peacock Park, Botanical Garden and City Bird Sanctuary will remain closed for visitors on Independence Day. TNS
