The Kalka police have arrested a man accused of breaking into a house and stealing silver ornaments and cash. According to the police, a Kalka resident lodged a complaint on October 2, stating that when he returned home from work on October 1, he found the lock of his house broken and valuables missing.
Based on the complaint, an investigation was launched under the supervision of Inspector Kamaljeet Singh. During the probe, the police received information that the suspect, identified as Deepu, a resident of Preet Nagar, Kalka, was seen near the local vegetable market with the stolen items. Acting on the tip-off, the police arrested him on October 5 and recovered a considerable quantity of silver jewellery from him.
The accused was produced in a court which sent him to police custody for two days for further interrogation regarding his involvement in other thefts.
