The court of Aarti Singh, Additional Sessions Judge, has sentenced a man to rigorous imprisonment for three years for sexually harassing three minor girls.
The fast-track court constituted under the POCSO Act held Pawan Kumar guilty under Section 12 of the Act, sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for three years and also imposed a fine of Rs. 3,000 on him.
He was held for sexually harassing minor girls by showing them his private part and making obscene gestures on their way to school.
The court in its orders mentions that the convict deserves no leniency. Pawan sexually harassed minor girls by showing his private part to them and passing obscene gestures on their way to school. Such cases are on the rise and leave a negative impact on the mind of minor children. To overcome the detrimental effects of sexual harassment and abuse, minor children need to be protected from this harm. It is imperative to deal with perpetrators of sexual offence sternly.
