Man killed after confronting neighbour’s obscene gesture towards wife, 1 held

A 40-year-old resident of Pabhat, father of four, was stabbed to death by his neighbour after he objected to his obscene gestures in front of his wife.

Sambhal UP, native Pramod Kumar was stabbed thrice on his back in a knife attack by his neighbour Faizaan hours after the altercation. He was rushed to GMCH-32 where doctors declared him dead. The assailant, a native of Moradabad, fled the spot after the incident, but was nabbed by police later.

On the statement of Malti, wife of the deceased, a case of murder has been registered at Zirakpur police station.

The complainant stated that she lives with her family on the first floor of the rented house for past three years. She was washing clothes on the ground floor yesterday night when Faizaan started doing obscene gestures in front of her.

“When I complained about it to my husband, he objected to it, and had an altercation with the Faizaan and his father. At around 4am, he came upstairs with a knife and attacked Pramod from behind.”

Zirakpur SHO Satinder Singh said, "The suspect has been arrested and police is recovering the knife used in the crime."
