Chandigarh, January 14

A 29-year-old man was shot at by an unknown person following an altercation with his sisters on Thursday night.

The victim, Gursewak Singh, a Dadu Majra resident, suffered an injury and was hospitalised.

The victim had an argument with his sisters at home. One of his sisters then called her friend, who, along with a few other youths, reached their home.

Sources said one of the suspects was possessing a weapon with which he opened fire at the victim. The bullet grazed his leg. The youths then escaped from the spot.

A case of attempt to murder has been registered at the Maloya police station. “One of the suspects, who knew the victim’s sister, has been identified. He is on the run,” the sources added. —
