A man and his son have been arrested for poaching Indian pangolin and smuggling its scales.

Siswan Wildlife Department officials had got a tip-off that the duo were smuggling scales for the past sometime. When the officials searched the shanty of suspect Kabira and his son Ramdas near Singha Devi, they found a plastic bag with over 3 kg of pangolin scales in it.

A case under the Wildlife Act has been registered at the Nayagaon police station.
