A 50-year-old man, a resident of Sector 39, Chandigarh, allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself at a park near his house.

According to the police, they received a call about the incident around 10 pm on Saturday. A team was rushed to the spot and the body was taken into custody.

It was handed over to the victim’s family for last rites on Sunday after a post-mortem examination.

Police officials said no suicide note was found at the scene and the reason behind the man taking the extreme step remained unclear.
