Manu shines in Dhanas school’s football triumph

The girls’ U-17 football team representing Government Model High School, RC (I), Dhanas, won the inter-school tournament, ousting PM Shri Government Model Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, in a close final. Manu scored the only goal of the match in the 46th minute to seal the team’s title win.

St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, finished third by defeating Sacred Heart School, Sector 26. Anshika posted the lone goal of the match in the 53rd minute.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-17 category, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, posted a 4-0 win over Government Model High School, Sector 36. Anirudh (16th, 19th) and Mukul (22nd, 38th) scored a brace each. Chandigarh Baptist, Sector 45, scored a 2-1 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20. Rupender (14th, 16th) scored both the goals for the winning side, while Deepesh pulled off one for the Sector 20 team in the 46th minute.

Ryan International School, Sector 49, outclassed AKSIPS, Sector 45, with a 6-3 result, while Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 32, posted a 3-0 win over Shishu Niketan School, Sector 43.

New Public School cagers win

New Public School, Sector 18, won the girls’ U-19 interschool basketball meet by recording a 31-12 win over Sacred Heart School, Sector 26. Ananya gathered 10 points for the title winners, while Tanmay posted six for the Sector 26 team.

Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, finished third. The side posted a 44-22 win over Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 26, with Kaumndi alone scoring 20 points. Gamini gathered 14 points for the Sector 36 team.

In the boys’ U-19 meet, Gurukul Global, Manui Majra, lads moved into the next round by defeating New Public School 49-35. Ujjwal scored 15 for the winners, while Maman gathered 16 for the losing side. PML SD Public School, Sector 32, also posted a 49-12 victory over Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 33, as Prabhjot scored 11 points. Aditya posted 10 points for the government school team.
