Panjab University observed Martyrs’ Day today, paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and the countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. The event saw participation from faculty, students, research scholars and non-teaching staff.

PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Renu Vig, along with university officers and staff, led the observance by observing a two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs. The event served as a poignant reminder of the courage and dedication of those who laid down their lives for the nation.

Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, observed Martyrs’ Day today, to honour those who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom.

A two-minute silence was observed at 11 am outside the Administrative Block. The event was attended by Registrar Col RM Joshi (retd), Dean Student Affairs DR Prajapati, staff and students.

The observance began with an ‘All Clear’ siren at 10:59 am, followed by silent tribute. It concluded with another siren at 11:02 am.
