Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla today honoured Kafi, an acid attack survivor, who has scored 95.6% marks in the CBSE Class XII humanities stream.
The Mayor assured Kafi of all possible help she needed in future. She said the journey of 17-year-old student from the Blind School, Sector 26, is nothing short of an inspiration.

Kafi was attacked with acid by three neighbours at her village, Budhana, in Haryana’s Hisar district when she was three-year-old. She suffered severe injuries on her face and arms and lost eyesight.
Babla said Kafi’s hard work had paid off and she wanted to study Political Science at Delhi University. She dreams to become an IAS officer. Kafi’s father is a Group D employee at the Mini-Secretariat.
