Mayor meets Nadda, flags MC fiscal issues
Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla met Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilisers JP Nadda at the city airport to discuss the pressing budgetary issues being faced by the Municipal Corporation.
During the meeting, Mayor Babla highlighted the financial constraints that have hindered the corporation’s ability to undertake essential ward development and overall infrastructural projects in the city. She expressed concerns over the lack of funds, which has stalled several key development initiatives, directly impacting the residents of Chandigarh.
Nadda, who was on his way from Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh to New Delhi, assured the Mayor of making every effort to address the issue at the earliest. He emphasised his commitment to finding a solution that ensured the smooth functioning and development of Chandigarh.
