Chandigarh, march 4
BJP city unit president Jitendra Pal Malhotra today said Mayor Kuldeep Kumar Dhalor is in minority and should resign on moral grounds.
“Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann of the AAP repeatedly talk about morality. Should anyone ask them where is morality now? Do they have the right to hold the post of mayor with only 10 councilors? If there is some morality left in them, then Dhalor should immediately resign from the post of mayor,” he said at a press conference.
He said the BJP has no-confidence motion in its agenda. He further said just providing free facilities does not lead to development, for development it was necessary to have planning and will power.
He described the win of BJP candidates in the Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor polls as the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees, BJP’s policies and ideology. He termed it as the beginning of the downfall of the INDIA bloc.
“The truth of the INDI alliance has come out in front of everyone, it is a mismatched alliance that is falling apart. The alliance is breaking everywhere and now it no longer exists. Similarly, this fraud will fail in the Lok Sabha election and the BJP will win,” Malhotra said.
Attacking former Congress MP Pawan Kumar Bansal, Malhotra alleged Bansal has sacrificed the party and party leaders for his personal ambition and his political greed.
BJP spokesperson Sanjiv Rana said, “How can AAP rule in the 36-member MC House with only 10 councillors. The mayor should immediately resign.”
Meanwhile, newly elected Senior Deputy Mayor Kuljeet Singh Sandhu and Deputy Mayor Rajinder Sharma reached the BJP office where party workers gave them a grand welcome. City BJP in-charge Vijay Rupani met the two winners and congratulated them.
