Chandigarh Mayor writes to MP Manish Tewari for five leaf collector machines

Harpreet Kaur Babla, MC Mayor, has requested Manish Tewari, Member Parliament, Chandigarh, to provide five leaf collector machines through MPLAD funds. In a letter written to Tewari, she said that in the autumn season huge heaps of dry leaves could be seen on almost all roads of the city.

In autumn, about 120 to 130 MT of dry leaves are lifted on a daily basis. The Mayor said due to the shedding of huge amount of dry leaves, aesthetics of the city could not be maintained. Babla said that the tentative cost of one machine is Rs 6 to 10 lakh and a minimum five machines were required.
