The Municipal Corporation has conducted a safety drive across various parts of the city, particularly colony areas, to remove ropes tied by residents to poles of streetlight for drying clothes.

These ropes posed significant safety risks due to their proximity to live electrical infrastructure.

An MC team not only removed the ropes, but also educated residents about the dangers of using electric poles for such purposes.

A similar operation was carried out in the EWS colonies and other surrounding areas. During the drive, cycles, rehri carts, and other personal items found chain-locked to streetlight poles were also cleared, as they created obstructions and safety hazards.

Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar urged citizens to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation and refrain from using public infrastructure for personal use.
