MC chief visits night shelters
Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Amit Kumar on Friday evening visited the temporary night shelters at GMSH, Sector 16, to take stock of health and hygiene facilities provided to the homeless. During the visit, the commissioner distributed blankets among the poor living there.
He was accompanied by Sanjay Arora, Chief Engineer, MC, Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, president, Chandigarh Traders Association, Sector 17, along with members HS Monga, Amit Jain, Naresh Bansal, Navdeep Sharma, Vikas Batta, Manav Bedi, Anil Vohra and Rajan Mahajan from Chandigarh Beopar Mandal also joined them.
They distributed blankets among poor at Sector 32 and Sector 43 night shelters.
