After stern action taken by Amit Kumar, Commissioner, MC, the engineering wing of the MC swung into action to check anomalies in the parking sites throughout the city.
Following the directions of Commissioner, MC Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora accompanied by Superintending Engineer (B&R) made surprise checks in the parking sites near Kiran cinema, Sector 22 and opposite Sector 17 bus stand. During the inspection the team checked all aspects of parking fee regulations.
The Commissioner had carried out a surprise check of the parking site at Sector 17 on March 19 and found non-compliance of parking fee regulations, following which one JE was suspended and an XEN and SDE, B&R wing, were served show-cause notices to explain their position within three days as to why the supervision and monitoring of attendants of parking staff not performing their duty properly was not carried out.
The Commissioner directed all officers involved in running the paid parking sites falling under the jurisdiction of the MC to adopt full compliance with the parking fee regulations. He further warned that any official or officer found showing lack of supervision on their part would invite strict action against them.
