MC launches anti-encroachment drive at Sector 4 in Panchkula
The Panchkula Municipal Corporation initiated an anti-encroachment drive in Sector 4 of Mansa Devi Complex here today. A large number of unauthorised vendors and encroachments from roadside footpaths were removed during the drive.
The drive was launched after repeated complaints from local residents regarding illegal encroachments affecting pedestrian movement and overall cleanliness in the area.
A delegation of residents, led by Income Tax Chief Commissioner Rekha Shukla (retd) and Monisha Mahajan, raised concerns over various civic issues during a meeting with Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal. They also highlighted the lack of proper sanitation services, including irregular garbage collection, stray dog menace and the presence of slums in the area.
Goyal assured the delegation that the Municipal Corporation would take necessary steps to address their grievances and improve civic amenities in Sector 4. The corporation is expected to implement stricter sanitation measures and enhance waste management services in response to residents’ concerns.
