Chandigarh, July 8
The Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) of the Municipal Corporation (MC) has accorded approval to an agenda item, under which microchips would be fixed on stray dogs for the purpose of dog census and vaccination management. The committee has approved the purchase of 1,000 microchips along with an applicator and a reader at an approximate cost of Rs 4 lakh.
The committee also approved AI imaging of stray dogs, which will help in census and vaccination management, at an estimated cost of Rs 5 lakh.
A meeting of the committee was held today under the chairmanship of Mayor Kuldeep Kumar. It was attended by Municipal Commissioner Anindita Mitra and other members of the committee, Jaswinder Kaur, Lakhbir Singh, Ram Chander Yadav and Taruna Mehta.
The committee discussed the agenda regarding rates, policy guidelines and terms and conditions for booking commercial spaces at Housing Board, Mani Majra; Circus Ground in Sector 17 and the Exhibition Ground, Sector 34, through e-auction for the whole year. The committee members recommended that the detailed terms and conditions be presented before next General House meeting for discussion and final approval.
