The Social welfare Committee of the Chandigarh Administration has expressed serious concern over rising menace of stray animals and stray dogs in the city and has called for strong steps to curb the same.

The committee, which met under the chairmanship of former MP and Additional Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain last evening, decided to take up the issue on priority and involve the representatives of various social organisations for a proper solution to the problem. The panel also expressed concern over the delay in construction of Senior Citizens Home in Sector 49. It was also informed that of the 31 missing children in Chandigarh, seven had been traced.
