Mercury below 9°C in UT, Panchkula

Minimum temperatures expected to dip further to 7°C in the coming days

Temperatures dipped further across the Tricity today, marking a chill in the air. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh dropped to 8.7°C, while Panchkula was the coldest at 8°C. Mohali, however, remained relatively warmer with a low of 12.4°C.

The maximum temperature in Chandigarh settled at 27°C, about a degree below normal, as sky remained clear through the day.

The sharp fall in night temperatures widened the gap between day and night readings, an early sign of winter’s advance in the plains. Relative humidity in Chandigarh was recorded between 35% and 92%. There were no reports of rain in the Tricity region.

According to the India Meteorological Department’s forecast, mainly clear sky will persist over the next few days with minimum temperatures likely to hover between 7°C and 8°C and daytime highs around 26-28°C. Partly cloudy conditions are expected early next week.
