Minor held for sexually assaulting neighbour
The police apprehended a minor for sexually assaulting another minor.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta said the two were neighbours and resided in a slum area of Panchkula.
According to the complainant, the accused had allegedly coerced and intimidated the minor into sexual relations. When the minor’s health deteriorated, a medical examination was conducted which confirmed her pregnancy.
A case was registered at Sector 14 Police Station under Section 64(2) of the Indian Justice Code and Section 6 of the POCSO Act. The case is being investigated by Sub-Inspector Karnail Singh.
The accused was sent to a juvenile home.
