Minor pregnant, youth booked on rape charge
Lalru, March 12
A youth from Lalru has been booked on the charge of impregnating a 17-year-old girl.
On the victim’s statement, a case under the IPC and the POCSO Act has been registered at the Lalru police station.
The incident came to light after the minor girl, who resides in Lalru, was taken to a hospital by her mother after she complained of constant stomach ache. The doctors found the girl pregnant and informed the police.
The victim told the police that one day, she had left for her school and the suspect stopped her midway and allegedly raped her. She also stated that he threatened her with dire consequences if she narrated the incident to anyone. — OC
