Miscreants flee after snatching woman’s necklace

In a daylight snatching incident, two snatchers snatched a woman’s diamond necklace while she was going home on a two-wheeler on Friday. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera and the footage has gone viral online.

The victim, Minakshi Gupta, a resident of Sector 17, was bringing her son back home from school at around 12 pm. She said she had reached her residence when a snatcher wearing a helmet grabbed her necklace from behind. In her complaint to the police, she said a part of the necklace broke off and was left in her hand while the snatcher fled the spot with another individual on a two-wheeler.

The police said a case under Section 304 (snatching) of the BNS has been registered against the suspects at the Sector 14 police station.
