Missing girl reunited with family in 24 hrs

Panchkula’s Women Police Station traced and reunited a missing mentally challenged teenage girl with her family within 24 hours of her disappearance. The 17-year-old, who is also non-verbal, had gone missing from her home on Friday afternoon, posing a serious challenge for investigators due to her inability to communicate.

Upon receiving a report about an unidentified girl, the police brought her to the Women Police Station. Station House Officer, Sub-Inspector Neha Sandhu, explained that the team worked tirelessly through the night, coordinating with nearby police stations and posts, but initially found no leads.

Despite limited information and the girl’s inability to speak, the officers continued their search relentlessly. Their efforts bore fruit around 1 pm today, when they managed to trace her family and ensure her safe return.

The emotional reunion saw the girl’s mother overwhelmed with relief and gratitude, bursting into tears as she embraced her daughter. The family wholeheartedly thanked the Panchkula police for their humanity and determination.

ASI Sudesh Kumari also played a key role in the operation, contributing to the girl’s identification and return. Praising the team’s dedication, DCP Srishti Gupta and DCP Crime Amit Dahiya commended the Women Police Station for their sensitivity and commitment. They noted that such humane interventions not only reflect the police’s compassion but also help build trust between the force and the community.
