The victim, identified as Gurvinder Singh, was missing for four days. The police recovered the body and arrested two suspects, Amit and Shubham, both residents of Attawa in Sector 42. They were produced in a court. While Shubham was sent to judicial custody, Amit was remanded in police custody.

Preliminary probe indicated that the victim and the accused were consuming drugs together when Gurvinder allegedly suffered an overdose. The two accused reportedly assumed he had died and disposed of the body in the drain pipe.

Gurvinder, an employee at CITCO, had informed his family on October 12 that he would be home late. On his way, he reportedly met the two accused, and the trio allegedly bought drugs from Sector 25 before going to Sector 42. Gurvinder’s family traced his electric scooter using its GPS.

The police were informed who located the body. An investigation led to the arrest of the accused.
