The Finance and Contract Committee of the Mohali Municipal Corporation has approved development projects worth approximately Rs 80 crore and issued work orders. Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu said new estimates for various development initiatives, to the tune of Rs 50 crore, were approved, while work orders for previously approved projects worth Rs 20 crore were also issued. Additionally, works valued at Rs 9 crore, estimated by the Public Health Department, were approved and later, will be allocated to the department.

The approved projects include road repairs, parks, sewage systems, streetlights, footpaths in parks in sectors 76 to 80, pathways and other essential developments. These projects span various areas of Mohali and will begin soon. Efforts would be made to address issues like ensuring smooth water supply and improved sewage management, with Rs 9 crore already allocated to the Public Health Department for these purposes.

The Mayor also mentioned that contractors are expected to start work within a month, with the projects set to be completed within three months.
