The Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC) will deliberate on its Rs 211 crore budget for the year 2025-26 on Thursday. According to the agenda of the meeting, Rs 129 crore are proposed to be spent on developmental works and a contingency fund of Rs 7.19 crore has been set aside.

Officials said an increase of 30 per cent from the last year’s budget had been proposed. The biggest chunk of expenditure for the next fiscal year is establishment costs which roughly amount to Rs 75 crore.

The General House meeting of the civic body would deliberate on sweeping of ‘A’ and ‘B’ roads and waste disposal at a cost of Rs 152.42 lakh. A proposal to build sheds over RMC points would also be part of the meeting. The proposed issue of Rs 10 per month charges from visitors at nine libraries of the city is set to generate some heat at the meeting.
