A fine 61-run contribution by Aryan Bhatia went in vain as Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib shared points after the rain disrupted the match during the Punjab State Inter-District U-19 One-Day Tournament here today.
After winning the toss, Fatehgarh Sahib put Mohali to bat first. The hosts scored 242 runs before getting all out in 48 overs. Bhatia remained the highest scorer for the side. He scored 61 off 53 balls, studded with seven boundaries. Sanraj Singh (39) was the other run getter for Mohali. Yugnesh Kumar (4/28) claimed maximum wickets for the bowling side, while Adesh Kumar and Ajaypal Singh took two wickets each for the bowling side.
Later, rain disrupted the match and Fatehgarh Sahib innings could not be start. The match was abandoned and both teams shared points.
Muktsar Sahib defeated Fazilka by 43 runs in anther match. Hosts Muktsar Sahib scored 165 runs in 44.2 overs. Jaspinder Brar (45) and Sunny Kumar (38) were the two main scorers for the side. Sameer Kumar claimed four wickets for the bowling side, while Harpal Singh and Rahul Saxena took two wickets each.
In reply, Fazilka lads were bundled out for 122 runs in 45 overs. Nikhiln Setia (27) and Tarun Kumar (22) contributed to the chase. Reavanpreet Singh (3/12) and Manpreet Singh (3/21) took three wickets each for the bowling side.
In other matches, Ropar defeated Moga by six wickets, Bathinda overpowered Sangrur by 85 runs, Ferozepur outclassed Faridkot by 121 runs, Nawanshahr logged a three-wicket win over Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala ousted Gurdaspur by two wickets and Mansa registered a 56-run win over Barnala.
