Mohali man gets 10-yr jail in drug case

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge today awarded 10-year imprisonment to a resident of Mohali for possessing banned injections and heroin in 2018.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Ajit Attri convicted Parmod Masih (48) under Sections 21 (b) and 22 (c) of the NDPS Act and also imposed a fine of Rs 1.10 lakh on him.

According to the prosecution, Parmod was arrested by a team from the Sector 49 police station on October 10, 2018. The police found 15 injections of pheniramine maleate and 15 injections of buprenorphine, along with 20 gram of heroin. He could not produce any licence or permit to carry these banned injections. Following the seizure, a case under Sections 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act was registered at the Sector 49 police station and he was arrested.
