The Finance and Contract Committee of the Mohali Municipal Corporation today passed work orders worth Rs60 lakh brought specially for various development works in Sector 76 to 80 here.

The Finance and Contract Committee of the Mohali Municipal Corporation today passed work orders worth Rs60 lakh brought specially for various development works in Sector 76 to 80 here.

The F&CC also brought new resolutions of more than Rs3 crore for various development works in various areas falling under the Municipal Corporation.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu. Prominent among others present in the meeting included Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, members Jasbir Singh Manku, Anuradha Anand, Commissioner Kamal Garg, Joint Commissioner Harjit Singh Dhillon and SE Sanjay Garg.

Speaking after the meeting, Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu said the entire area from Sector 76 to 80 was earlier under GMADA and was lagging behind in terms of infrastructure. After the Municipal Corporation took over the area, he took special interest in initiating development works here and tried to strengthen the infrastructure.

The Mayor said resolutions worth crores had been passed for the industrial sector and the residential area in Sector 74. Works for cleaning and maintenance of parks and roads had been started.

Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu said similar efforts were being made for the development of Mohali as a whole and works in various sectors were going on in full swing. He reassured the people of Mohali that there would be no shortage of funds for development works.
