Mohali MC sanitises open-air gyms, bus terminal

In order to prevent spread of coronavirus (Covid-19), the Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC) has started sanitising open air gyms and swings in the parks.
Besides, the civic body also sanitised the District Courts Complex, DC office and bus terminal today.
MC Commissioner Kamal Kumal Garg said they decided to sanitise open air gyms, District Courts Complex, DC office and bus stand keeping in mind the level of footfall. He said sanitising of offices is the responsibility of the department concerned.
Garg said they would also sanitise private premises as per advice of the civil surgeon. He said apart from distributing pamphlets, awareness would be created through mobile vans.
He said fogging is being done in the entire city and they have purchased 500 gloves, 1,200 masks and other protective gear, which will be distributed to the field staff.
The Commissioner said the entry and exit to the house in Phase 3-A, where a COVID-19 positive case was found positive has been closed. He said sanitisation of the house is being done.
Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan have issued directions related to closure of sit-in and dine-in facility at all the restaurants in Mohali.
The order reads, “All the restaurants in Mohali shall not be allowed to sit-in/dine-in facility. Only home delivery or take away will be allowed.” Banquets halls and marriage palaces have also been closed.
The order reads that gathering of more than 20 persons for social or religious functions will not be allowed. All officers in the district will remain at the headquarters and can leave the station after getting permission from the DC.
