The police today seized electronic devices and documents from the Sector 71 house of music producer Pushpinder Dhaliwal, aka Pinky Dhaliwal, in the Sunanda Sharma cheating case.
Cops said another complaint had been filed against Pushpinder Dhaliwal, who was ordered to be released by the High Court if he is not required in any other case. His son Gurkaran Dhaliwal had filed a habeas corpus petition against Dhaliwal’s unlawful detention by the Mataur police.
Dhaliwal’s two day police remand ended today.
While being taken by the police to his house for search, Dhaliwal was seen sitting in the police vehicle with folded hands. Addressing the media for the first time after the controversy broke out, Dhaliwal’s family members rejected all allegations and said Sunanda was like a family member, adding that she had been living in their house for the past six years.
Pushpinder Dhaliwal was arrested on Saturday after singer and actress Sunanda Sharma filed a cheating, forgery and criminal intimidation complaint against him.
Sunanda had alleged that despite earning Rs 250 crore over the years, no payment had been made to her. In her complaint to the Mohali police, Sunanda also alleged that Pushpinder Dhaliwal exploited her on the pretext of marrying her to his son Gurkaran Dhaliwal.
