Mohali resident alleges police inaction after ‘firing’ at house; probe underway, say cops
A Phase 9 resident alleged that the police have not registered an FIR despite him having complained of unidentified miscreants having fired at his house on March 17.
The complainant, Sanjeev Singh Mand, 59, and his elderly bed ridden father, 89, said they have been receiving from a Canada-based drug smuggler.
“I have been getting threat calls and messages from a foreign number for past many days and have reported the matter to Phase-8 police station but no action has been taken,” Mand said.
The Phase-9 resident said after gunshots were fired at his house, he approached the police after which a few officials including Phase-8 station house officer (SHO) inspected the spot. An FSL team also took samples but there was no follow-up.
“I have approached the area SHO, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police in the last four days but there is no progress. Not even a DDR has been registered till now,” he rued.
Phase 8 SHO Navdeep Singh, meanwhile, said, “The matter is being investigated. An FSL team has taken samples. There is also a property-related dispute that’s in play.”
