Mohali, November 2

In a unique initiative, the road from Phase 7 to Phase 3-5 lights was illuminated.

Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu today inaugurated the work to install colourful lights on the central verge for beautification of Mohali city at the Phase 3-5 lights. Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal and Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi were also present.

This road has been illuminated by the VRS group and the responsibility of its beautification lies with this builder company.

The Mayor said the central verges and triangles had been allotted to various companies for beautification of roads and adjacent triangles of traffic lights in the entire city. The MC would not have to spend any money on this complete beautification and these companies would be permitted to put up advertisements of a fixed size at these places besides awareness boards.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
