Mohali saddles up for two-day equestrian fest

In a first to enthrall the people of Punjab with a unique festival on equestrian events, the stage has been set to welcome horse breeders and riders to the city, said Sonam Chaudhary, ADC (Rural Development), here, today.

About 34 events have been slated the two-day event starting from March 1.

The equestrian festival, which has been organised with collaboration of Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, will be held at The Ranch, Gate No. 4, Forest Hill Resort, Karoran.

On the first day of competition, multiple events will be held including Team Lance Tent Pegging, Six Bar Jumping, Sword Individual Tent Pegging, Horse Dance, Fashion Show, Dressage Preliminary, Open Hacks, Farrier Test, Milk Teeth Filly Ring, Horse Display, Milk Teeth Colt Ring, Two Teeth Colt Ring and Fashion Show.

It will be followed by Lance Individual Tent Pegging, Show Jumping Derby, Sword Team Tent Pegging, Fancy Dress, Final Run Sword Team, Medley Relay, Medal Ceremony, Dressage Elementary, Show Jumping Group 1-2-3, Pole Bending Race, Ball and Bucket Race, Ladies Hacks, Mare Nukra Ring, Horse Display, Stallion Nukra Ring, Mare Marwari Ring, Horse Display, Stallion Marwari Ring on the second day. —TNS
