Mohali, September 2

The district today “scripted history” by administering the first dose of the Covid vaccine to 26,000 people over and above its total adult population.

A government spokesman said the totaladult population of Mohali district was 7,46,119. The district crossed this vaccination figure on Tuesday and by September 2, it had successfully administered the first dose to 7,73,442 people, i.e. 103.66 per cent.

“Mohali has created a record of sorts and is the first district in Punjab to administer the vaccination to more people than its adult population,” said Balbir Singh Sidhu, Health Minister, Punjab. He appreciated the efforts of doctors, nurses, paramedics and officials, who made the feat possible. “Congratulations to all those who made this campaign a success,” he said.
